Located on Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, Izanagi Shrine is considered one of Japan's oldest Shinto sanctuaries, dedicated to the creator deities Izanagi and Izanami. Set within peaceful wooded grounds, it features sacred ancient camphor trees and holds a central place in Japanese mythology as the dwelling where Izanagi spent his final days.
