Held every spring near Lake Motosu in Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi Prefecture, the Fuji Shibazakura Festival covers the fields with around 500,000 moss phlox plants in shades of pink, white and purple. From mid-April to late May, the carpets of flowers stretch toward Mount Fuji, creating one of the most colorful views of the mountain.
