Tokoji Temple

Located in Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Tokoji is a Zen temple founded in 1691 as the family temple of the Mori clan, the lords of the Hagi domain. Behind the main hall, around 500 stone lanterns offered by their retainers stand in neat rows before the lords' graves, and they are all lit during a lantern festival every August.
