Located on Omishima Island in Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, Oyamazumi Shrine is an ancient Shinto sanctuary long revered as the supreme guardian shrine for mariners, warriors, and the Seto Inland Sea. Encircled by a sacred grove of ancient camphor trees—including one estimated to be over 2,600 years old—the shrine houses a renowned treasure hall containing the vast majority of Japan's designated National Treasure and Important Cultural Property samurai armor and weaponry.
