Harajiri Falls
原尻の滝
Waterfalls & Gorges · Oita
Located in Bungo-Ono, Oita Prefecture, Harajiri Falls is a wide curtain of water about 120 meters across and 20 meters high, often called the Niagara of the Orient. Unusually, it sits in the middle of rice fields, formed by lava from an ancient Mount Aso eruption, and a suspension bridge lets visitors admire it from above.
