Located in Matsushima Bay, Miyagi Prefecture, Fukuurajima is a small wooded island connected to the shore by a 252-meter vermilion bridge known as Fukuura Bridge. Home to around 300 plant species, it offers peaceful walking trails and lovely views over the pine-covered islets of Matsushima, one of Japan's three most scenic views.
