断魚渓
Waterfalls & Gorges · Shimane
Located in Ohnan, Shimane Prefecture, Dangyokei is a four-kilometer gorge carved by the Nigori River, a tributary of the Gonokawa. Its name means where the fish are cut off, as its waterfalls and rapids are said to be impossible for fish to climb, and its strange rock formations, clear pools and autumn foliage make it a designated national scenic spot.
