Held every February in Iiyama, Nagano Prefecture, one of the snowiest towns in Japan, the Iiyama Snow Festival showcases giant snow sculptures created by local teams. Visitors can also see kamakura, traditional snow huts lit from inside by candles, where residents sometimes serve local food and warm drinks.
